When The Sea Received The Sky
The world is fucked. The state disapproves of you cultivating the same plants it grows, and the body of your partner is ever crumbling under the weight of decay. Join Zero and Euphoria on this downward spiral against the world, along a path lined by cybernetic trees. Oh yea, the plants are the body parts.

this was wonderful. bravo!
<3
This was probably the most heartbreaking visual novel I have ever read. By the end, I was sobbing and hugging my pillow as tight as possible.
Hearing that means so much to me. Thank you so much for playing, I'm glad you felt things :3
I still think about this game and recommend to this to my friends since I first layed shortly after you released it. It was an honor to be apart of the experience, I hope we can work together more, and maybe this time I can do a custom soundtrack for you :))
Hehe hell yea, I'm so happy you were here for it
We'll get this bread!!!
Hey, I just wanted to say that this really affected me, and that even two weeks after experiencing it I'm still thinking about it. If I had the ability to cry I would shed a thousand tears. The relationship is so real feeling, but alien at the same time. Both of the characters are so loveable and I still don't know how you fleshed them out and got me invested in them so quickly without it feeling rushed or sloppy. The art is amazing, the writing is amazing, I even found myself wishing I could listen to the music outside of the game. I want you to know that you created an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you.
Thank you sooooo so so much for the kind words, it means the world to me that the game touched you in the way it did <3 (I was a bit cheeky and will admit that some interactions are quite close to real life at that time, so that might have given me a boon for versimilitude hehe)
And you can listen to the music!! I just published a blog post with links to all the music I used, it's about half music from a friend's solo project and the other half is music you can find online: https://snekofspice.itch.io/when-the-sea-received-the-sky/devlog/715281/version-...
OMG THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!! Have a great day!!!
finally got around to making an itch account just to personally thank you for creating this. i dont really have much in terms of words to express what i feel beyond that. maybe that'll change when its not 11pm. figured id write this anyways now so i dont forget to thank you. keep making your art. whatever form it takes, i want it in the world.
Your words and your creation-of-an-account is loved and cherished here! Thank you for your kind words :3
It's been a while since I played something that resonated with me the way this did. To preface I have not been having a good time mentally and this helped to somewhat lift the dark cloud that is hanging over my head. Not only was it a beautiful sapphic love story with fleshed-out characters but it was also one of the few games that left me feeling happy and hopeless when it ended partly due to how brief the experience was. The art and the writing were beautiful in their grotesqueness and the story felt mythic, like it was a dream; it felt alien yet strangely familiar. It also made me yearn for the kind of connection that Zero and Euphoria had (mostly because I am a sapphic dummy who is too afraid to speak to women). Anyway to conclude this god-awful essay of mine, I loved it, it was great, if I had money to give I would pour every damn cent straight into your pockets because holy fuck man I needed something like this in this doomed world.
holy fuck thank you so so so much for your words, this means the world to me <3
(think version 1.2.1.0 may be bugged since would not launch)
was exceptionally wonderful. zero and euphoria are both delightfully realized full characters even in such a short time, and their little intimate moments together punctuate the ending perfectly.
thank you for making this.
omg I cannot believe my eyes, it's such a delight to see you comment on this!! I always enjoy your ratings and recommendations in my feed, so this is just so stunning. Thank you for playing and for the compliments hehehe
(thank you for the bug report! Fixed it :3)
As expected of a game with art from bloodmachine and written to have cool sex scenes and transfigurative robosexual relationships, this game absolutely fucks.
First off, I thought both Euphoria and Zero were very well written with how short the game was, their personalities coming across clearly, especially during their sex scenes and their moments of vulnerability. You can see (besides the physical) what attracts them to one another in their similarities as well as their differences. That drive, that relentless working and toiling for something they both want, even if it ends up in them never seeing each other again. It's some good shit.
Which brings me to the ending. I was having a great time with the VN so far, but that last scene of them saying goodbye was by far my favorite. And of course the line about their tears becoming their wedding dress genuinely stunned me. As amazing as blood machine's art is, your writing is just as good. You should be proud of this VN.
Also thanks for introducing me to Silent Planet, I listened to a little bit of it and I'll hear the rest of that album later.
Again, amazing job with this one, I fuck so hard with everything you had to say in this game, and I'll be following you for whatever you decide to post in the future.
ohmygod thank you so so much for the kind words!! Reading comments like yours truly means so much to me and does make me proud of my work :3
Small disclaimer, I dabble in many different genres and narrative styles, but the glowing reception to wtsrts is so fucking cool
But yes, thank you for playing, and I am overjoyed to hear how hard you vibed with this!!
(Also, have fun with Silent Planet hehe)
The theme of taking fate to your own hands really speaks to me, the constant balance of hard grind against the harsh reality and finding the time to sincerely enjoy one another made this into a really beautiful story. Especially combined with the music and visuals, wonderful work. Thank you for making this.
Thank you so so much for playing and typing this out!!! I'm so ecstatic that the vn resonated with you :3
Also I just have to reiterate how it could've never been like it turned out without the amazing contributions of Blood and CØL!
